1. Who was your favorite character (s) from the film? Why?

I really liked Winston the coach, because he was the only one willing to accept Derrick when he went to the gym for the first time, he always believed in him and didn't care about politics. He even tried to convince his parents to let him box when the Don threatened Derrick.

2. How does the film compare to the other Jamaican films from the 70s? (Besides visual effects, think about the plot and character development).

It looks like a bigger production, and it has better visual effects. The character development is definitely deeper than the previous film that we have watched. I really liked that character weren't good or bad, enemies turn into best friends, and best friends turn into enemies and firends again. Also, character change their view when the experience different things such as the attack of Derrick's mother. That not only made him taste the gruesome violence, it also changed his dad's point of view.

3. How are woman portrayed in this film? Is it a little or big advancement compared to the films from the 1970's?

The women are stronger, and they are not secondary. Derrick's mom, and coach's granddaughter were really important to Derrick from start to finish. Women also can be the cause of violence like what happened to Derrick's brother who was murdered because he was dating a girl from the other side.
